WHERE'S VESPRINI?: IT'S THAT MAN AGAIN!
Wednesday April 09, 2014
This season is already looking like the annual roller coaster ride. The joy of a rare win at Peterborough tempered by another devil of a time (ouch!) against Plymouth.

Well Craig started it with the weekend headlines! Anyway I must admit that seeing Kalle Katajisto down at reserve sent shivers up my spine before Saturday night and not because I can’t pronounce it in commentary. Sometimes there are riders you wish you’d sign just to stop them scoring points against you and he is definitely one. Even Eddie lost his unbeaten home record in a good tussle with Ben Barker.

Take nothing away from Plymouth though they fully deserved their third straight win at Hoddesdon and on that form they could be in for a good season down in the South West. Without Young Norman and with Steve down on power it was always going to be a tough one, when you add to that the fact Mat had his bike totalled the previous evening and Gino Manzares arrived with about 10 minutes notice, maybe it was predictable our League Cup campaign would hit the buffers.

Thinking about it the lack of union jack trousers was also a poor omen, hopefully they will be back from the dry cleaners shortly. Although thanks to Webby I did learn that Sam Simota had enrolled himself in the Rye House training school the week before to get a bit of practice in, now there’s cheek for you! So onwards and upwards with the return of the skipper from down under. Not only will we benefit on the track his one liners will make this blog easier to write in the coming months. I’m sure he’ll be telling one or two people how he beat Chris Harris and Greg Hancock to double his previous GP points tally as well.

Its an old boys reunion this coming Saturday with Pontus (isn’t that a Disney character?) Aspgren and Ollie Allen back in town. Ollie had a tough time in his only season with us while I always thought Pontus could put in some useful scores, hopefully not this week though. Thinking of former Rockets I was sad to hear of the accident which meant Anders required a 5 hour operation to insert a rod in his back, one of the sports truly nice guys we wish him all the best for a speedy recovery.

Up The Rockets!
